Glenveagh Castle lies within
the 40,000 acres
of Glenveagh National Park in County Donegal.
After its infamous beginning when 244 tenants were evicted
in
the cold April of 1861, the castle changed hands several times.
In 1981 its last owner Mr McIlhenny, an American from Philadelphia,
donated the castle and gardens to the Irish nation.
