Fuessen, Austria |
Leaving Dulles airport at the start of our big
adventure |
At least we have good seats. |
Upon arriving in Munich we met Peter,
our guide, who drove us to Fuessen and just over the border into Austria where our hotel was situated at the base of a medieval castle ruin - Burgenwelt Ehrenberg. |
|
Our hotel has a medieval look because
of the regular reenactments |
|
Exploring the hotel's unique playground
|
|
After a trek up the 12% grade we viewed and explored the ruins of Castle Ehrenberg and the other forts in the distance |
|
Exploring the town |
Dinner at a medieval themed restaurant in Fuessen |
A unique fountain The rocks on the top rotate in constant motion |
A name from the past. My first part time job was
as a salesgirl at Woolworth's. They no longer exist in the USA |
We walked through the town until dark |
The next morning we planned to stop on this bridge
for photos of the Alps |
But the mist obscured the beautiful
view we had seen yesterday. Note for the rest of trip - don't postpone
photo-ops! |
