This skanzen is different from others we toured throughout Slovakia

The history of the Ruthenian (Rusyn) people of the Carpathian region
includes Eastern Slovakia, the Ukraine, Poland and northern Hungary

Byzantine Catholic and Orthodox Rusyns worshiped in churches of totally wooden construction, including using dowels instead of nails

Houses and artifacts were gathered here from several countries where Ruthenian people lived

The goats were particularly friendly
and athletic.

There was an excellent variety of buildings, just as would be found in a village

The houses seemed larger than in the other skanzens we visited. However, since I cannot compare them side by side, perhaps it was an illusion.
