SAS students took a field trip to Nitra and toured the castle overlooking the city.
The fortification consists of the bishop's palace and the Cathedral of St. Emeram

2013 is the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of Saints Cyril and Methodius
who brought Christianity to the region
Pope John Paul II also visited the cathedral
Relic of St Cyril who was also known as Konstanin

Before WWII Nitra had a sizable Jewish population
Now the restored building serves as a memorial museum
