Trencin, Slovakia
2012
The approach to Trencin is dominated by the castle (hrad) high above the Vah River.
Our hotel was just below it.
We walked up the steep access to tour the site.
The castle was a defensive site guarding the ancient trade route from the Mediterranean to Poland
Fatima's well is significant for 2 lovers who would meet here.
Access to the castle is steep
Natural method of trimming the weeds
The town itself is quite picturesque
As a result of WWII deportations, the Synogogue is now an art museum
The Main Square
We visited 2 churches with simple exteriors, but interiors are equisite.
