We walked along the river path
up to the Baroque Weltenburg Monastery, Germany's oldest,
the early 7th century by Abbot Eustasius
It also houses the oldest monastery brewery in the world. Here we
drank their traditional dark beer.
The magnificent interior was created by two
brothers, a sculptor and a painter.
Next we rode the ferry through the beautiful
Danube Gorge where the river is deepest and narrowest
This trip provided a panorama of pictureque
towns and Jurassic-era limestone cliffs
This formation is "Napoleon's Suitcase"
