Once
we disembarked we met Oli' our guide for a tour of the Golden
Circle
That refers to
a circle of road that loops from Reykjavik through the Icelandic
countryside,
winding about 300 km (or 190 miles) between points
of interest.
Our 1st stop was Thingvellir National Park

A
church has been at this location since Iceland became a Christian
nation in the year 1000.
The current church was built in 1859 and the tower was added in 1907
The Parish cemetery still serves the local community
