Index Cruise 3
Warnings always seem to be in English worldwide
The geysers all have names

We can see an eruption in the distance

This is the Geyser "Strokkur" which regularly erupts up to 90 ft with only 8-10 minutes in between eruptions.
However, the eruptions are very short, so it is not very easy to catch the column on a photograph
Waiting for another eruption
Hoping for a view like this postcard
Not quite - we missed it
There is much more to explore
Blesi geyser is dormant but a beautiful blue spring pool. It activates after earthquakes
Another eruption in the distance
This is the "great Icelandic Geysir" that once gave every Geyser in the world its name
It began to erupt in the 13th century but became less active during the last centuries
until 2 earthquakes shook South Iceland in June 2000
New fissures were formed and for a while the Geyser was active again

We are in the right place for this eruption

Another geyser erupting - no people around but us
There it goes again as we are ready to leave
