Rather than get on a bus, I decided to walk
the length
of the harbor to the Bodrum Castle,
a fortification built in 1402
by the Knights of St John.
It has 4 towers built by the
English,
French, Germans
and Italians
.
In 1523 it was taken over by the Ottoman Empire
In the 1960s the castle became the home of the
Bodrum Museum of
Underwater Archaeology
|
|
I
left the ship and began the long walk along the shore to the castle |

Looking
back toward the ship |
and
forward to the castle |
|
|
There
are all kinds of boats in the harbor |
People
are already on the beach |
