Bodrum - Turkey (2022)

Index Cruise
Checking our ship's position
We are docking in #6 Bodrum, Turkey

Rather than get on a bus, I decided to walk the length
of the harbor to the Bodrum Castle,
a fortification built in 1402 by the Knights of St John.
It has 4 towers built by the
English, French, Germans and Italians

.
In 1523 it was taken over by the Ottoman Empire
In the 1960s the castle became the home of the
Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology

I left the ship and began the long walk along the shore to the castle
Looking back toward the ship
and forward to the castle
There are all kinds of boats in the harbor
People are already on the beach
