The Unterlinden Museum is housed in a 13th century former Dominican Convent
It contains over 7000 years of historical artifacts
The Museum's Great Masterpiece, the Iseheim Altarpiece (1512-1516)
It consists of multiple panels which are opened and closed according to the liturgical calendar
During our visit the panels were all disassembled for restoration
