Rome - Our Neighborhood (2019)
Index - Europe
June 2019
We rented 2 apartments in one building in a residential area between Classical Rome and Vatican City
We were a few steps away fromThe Campo dei Fiori .
In the morning it's a bustling marketplace, that transforms into a nightlife centre in the evening
A statue in the centre of the piazza is a memorial to Giordano Bruno – a philosopher and Dominican monk accused of heresy
He was burned alive here on February 17, 1600.
His bronze statue was created in 1888 and placed in the centre of the piazza at the exact location of his execution.
The base of the monument depicts his trial for heresy

Everyday there was a different market
The neigborhood had many restaurants popular with the locals
