Biserica Neagra (the Black Church) is the most representative historic monument in Brasov A 17th century fire which blackened the walls accounts for its name
Its vast interior can hold 5,000 people It contains a huge collection carpets donated by craftsmen and merchants of the city of 17th & 18th century
The organ (4000 pipes) was built between 1836 and 1839 by the Berlin organ maker Buchholz,
As we left the city we could see the snow capped Carpathian Mountains in the distance
