In
1967 we bought 10 acres of land 20 miles from Spokane in the village
of Tum Tum
Tum Tum is a native word meaning heart/soul
This is Lake Spokane also called Long Lake
Our land is on a ridge overlooking the lake

Eagle's
Nest |
Wild Turkey |
According
to our map from 1967, our land is over there |
We know we are close and asked
help from a neighbor
He built this house himself
The interior is beautiful |
He had a map which included our
plot |
This
is our road at
the intersection of route 291 |
We
have neighbors! |
The road is in very good condition |
This
neigbor has a beautiful house
He owns 20 acres. There is one neighbor between our properties |
This house is being built by our
immediate next door neighbor |
That little patch of blue is the
lake
We would have a good view if we thinned out some trees |
The stake marks the boundary of
our properties |
The bush in
the clearing
in the distance
is the dividing
line
between our
2 properties
The photo below
highlights
a fir tree
among the many pines

View of Cummings
Canyon Way and the access along our properties
2 acres of our land are flat
The
other 8 extend down to a creek and up the other side |
Back
down at route 291 by the lake |
This
map was on the wall of the pizza place where we had
lunch
It shows the roads Cummings Canyon Way and Virgil which
border our
property |
When we visited here in 1974, the
Sunset Bay Cafe was here
It burned down a few years ago
The
road (Route 291) runs very close to the lake in most areas
limiting the number of building sites directly on the lake |
This
is the road at the other end of our property (Virgil)
Not likely we will ever access it this way
I think that is the telephone pole
pointed out by our neighbor
as a border of our properties
