We
were on our own in this port since the excursions offered weren't
"our thing"
From our balcony we could see the enclosure where some would
interact with sealife
After "Seven Mile Beach" in the Caymans, the private
beach excursion behind the enclosure wasn't for us either |
|
|
We
should have paid more attention to the public beach
at the extreme left of this picture
|
It
had a dedicated area suitable for swimming laps
We even met some of our crew members there
The fee was only $3 ($5 if you wanted a beach chair) |

|
Still,
exploring the town had it's own memorable reward I
was one of the few tourists to accept the invitation to play the
bongos |
|
|
They
were quite surprised when I added my uninhibited rendition of "Jamaica
Farewell"
..."I took a trip on a sailing ship and when I reached Jamaica
I made a stop - and I'm
sad to say, I'm on my way. Won't be back for many a day
My heart is down, my head is turning around,
I had to leave a sailor boy in Kingston Town" |
|
|
Of
course, there was shopping before walking back to the ship |
