The scenery of the Sacred Valley is "breathtaking" both figuratively and literally
At elevations of 6,700 to over 12,000 feet it is wise to take precautions
We checked our oxygen levels daily to avoid the onset of elevation sickness
The mountains surrounding the Sacred Valley rise to a height of 20,000 feet
Terraces built by the Incas
Our "hacienda" style hotel in Urubamba
So many varieties of bread!
Coca leaves and coca tea are provided as a
natural remedy against elevation sickness
(I took the pills recommended by my doctor in the USA)
The "graffiti" on the mountainsides represents
different schools of the area.
Students are obviously very fit to get way up there
